Without a practical and experiential example to follow, the people will not be able to hear the biblical story that will help them make positive spiritual commitments in their lives through the love of Jesus Christ. The preacher must regain and build their trust by having a good relationship with them and by telling biblical and contemporary stories that encourage their participation with the action of the text.  The easiest way to be truly inductive in our preaching is to start with a need of our people and take that need to the Scripture for God's help and response.  The inductive structures just naturally start with the particulars, the problems and the questions that lead to the biblical conclusions and their application. The responses to sermons delivered without the extra element were compared to the responses of sermons delivered without the extra element. Sermon discussion groups, interviews, and journal writing were used to uncover what is helpful and what is not helpful when preaching among people who are not connected by common history or tradition, nor by ties of friendship of family. The author taught a six-week class in which participants learned to recognize and clarify the distinction among the three elements of the sermon. These two theories are built around presuppositions similar to a theological anthropology in which the Old Testament 'image of God' and the New Testament 'Body of Christ' are central.  Those theories can enable the preacher to conduct a double hermeneutic.  The interpretation of the biblical text and the use of behavioral science in the interpretation of the congregation can both assist the preacher preparing meaningful sermons. The most significant conclusion of this work is that a sermon preparation worksheet can be designed and used to help a male preacher be sensitive to women's issues and to preach inclusively.  The author learned that from a women's perspective, relationships are key to preaching and to ministry.  By being sensitive to women's issues in preaching, one is enabled to be faithful to the message and ministry of Jesus Christ.
