It is God's intention to see his followers transformed into the image of his Son. One of the methods he has chosen to use to realize this spiritual life-change is the preaching of his Word. But preachers have to make sure they are committed to life-changing sermons and not merely an informational exchange. Sermons are meant to bring transformation, not simply inform people of what a biblical text is saying. It presents the challenge for pastors preaching sermons to people from multiple language groups by examining the ingredients of communication and presenting an approach to preparing and delivering sermons. Preaching in English where multiple language groups are present is the resulting seminar that teaches a system of preparing sermons. The preparation of a sermon involves a six step process which is listener-focused. The pastor's effective delivery of these sermons requires an understanding of how verbal and nonverbal categories of preaching will impact listeners of different ethnic groups. The students listening are the future leaders of America and other countries of the world. This thesis project develops a 'preaching workshop' for the new college ministers to give them confidence and skills to preach biblically on campus. Chapter two and three are the literature review and the biblical and theological background for the basis for preaching biblically to the university. Chapter four is a summary of the preaching workshop for new college ministers. Chapter five is the review of the workshop and suggestions for future improvements. Combining these techniques with the Church Growth theories of Donald Gavran and his followers, the Church developed ideas of preaching to specific niche audiences and demographic groups.  In recent years there has been considerable conversation about what it means to be missional.  This thesis-project shows that the Bible presents a model of preaching that is appropriate to every age and culture.
