To determine how to preach such sermons the theological issues of the Law, salvation, sanctification and biblical preaching were considered.  The preaching styles and convictions of Bryan Chapell, Tim Keller, Andy Stanley and Rick Warren were also examined and evaluated. The students listening are the future leaders of America and other countries of the world. This thesis project develops a 'preaching workshop' for the new college ministers to give them confidence and skills to preach biblically on campus. Chapter two and three are the literature review and the biblical and theological background for the basis for preaching biblically to the university. Chapter four is a summary of the preaching workshop for new college ministers. Chapter five is the review of the workshop and suggestions for future improvements. Included in this preaching method are the tasks and practices that make up the weekly flow of sermon preparation as well as the structure of sermons and the delivery of those sermons. In this thesis I lay out what happens when a preacher loses his or her way and how a preaching method and careful study can help a preacher to rediscover the importance and heart of the gospel. The chapters deal with (1) a scriptural/historical survey of the notions friendship with God and friend of God, (2) a theology of preaching, (3) conversations with prominent Catholic preacher, (4) a spirituality of preaching identifying the preacher as a friend of God, and (5) the development of and implementation of a retreat for preachers focusing on a spiritualty of preaching grounded in friendship with God.
