The research method was a qualitative multisite case study of three Mexican churches using standardized open-ended interviews.  This research found that though leaders were helped to understand and apply worship principles they were not stimulated to think contextually about worship. The project studies the form and movement of lament psalms and offers five theological insights. It traces the development of the Presbyterian rite in the United States and examines its liturgical shape and theology.  It examines the various texts of the rite and assesses the extent to which they provide opportunity of lament. He reframes Deerhurst's understanding of membership through the use of symbolic and structural changes.
