Iconography was the spiritual discipline used for this exploration. The author, an ordained Protestant woman, used three icons of the Virgin Mary to help discover whether Mary could be a gateway to the feminine aspect of God. By using iconography, journaling and scriptural reflection facets of a 'softer' God did appear. On the hypotheses that most Roman Catholics do not understand the gospel message of the Bible, that they should be evangelized, and that certain methods are more effective than others in accomplishing this goal, the project analyzes relevant literature and empirical research, proving the hypotheses correct.
