The project placed a particular emphasis upon the youth. The context was Grace Reformed Church, Brooklyn, New York. A youth worship service and a vacation Bible school were developed to provide experience and education in God awareness and self-awareness in God. Context associates and senior youth were trained and taught by the researcher in order to develop leaders in the subject area. For six weeks, classroom sessions were held twice a week and the youth conducted the youth worship service on Sundays. The action research model and case study analysis revealed that this intervention improved the general behavior of the youth and indicated a greater commitment to the church of God by young people and adults."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["United Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["f0f9c284-37b6-440c-96ab-39e6509e82ee"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129935588360192,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:23:36.917Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:26:17Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:38:25Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"5225c819-171d-4bac-86dd-b098815c18d1","accessControl_ssim":["14f8dad3-bf82-4380-90fc-9964f6d61030"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["In the steps of Loyola: a Protestant retreat manual"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:26:16Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:32:22Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["b3ba0c9f-02dd-43f9-a77a-93112b076d26"],"hasLease_ssim":["9bd39255-422f-403a-b728-e31f4b8bca4d"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Marc T Haynes"],"publisher_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Protestantism","Spiritual retreats","Spiritual exercises","Ignatius, of Loyola, Saint, 1491-1556","Spiritual formation","Spiritual life--Christianity"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["I have been inspired by The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola to create a Protestant, Christ-centered retreat manual. This retreat manual was designed to lead people into a deeper spirituality. The group that tested this out was comprised of volunteers from the church I pastor, the Fulton Alliance Church. The expectation of the retreat manual was to allow the retreatants to grow in the Lord as well as to serve him in the context of the local church. The retreat manual was divided into three sections: salvation, sanctification, and vocation. Section one was designed to give clarity to salvation. Section two was designed to lead to further present sanctification. Section three was designed to assist the retreatants in identifying and applying their unique vocation. Upon examining the results of those who participated in the application of the retreat manual, I concluded that this project was successful in attaining the previously mentioned goals."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130870373941248,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:38:28.398Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:52:22Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:14:17Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"c12fa9d3-f19c-44a2-a998-b3e9a8be5749","accessControl_ssim":["7ff27b87-1026-436c-992d-34d5f59af838"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Preaching to the whole congregation: a study of spiritual type"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:52:21Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:41:07Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["4c2cfa5f-7ac9-420e-9fac-f206cc59ca2a"],"hasLease_ssim":["81c0424f-5503-43da-b91c-6228e9fc3b97"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Iliff School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["Thomas H Troeger"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Ann H Heuer"],"publisher_tesim":["Iliff School of Theology"],"subject_tesim":["Protestantism","Spiritual life--Christianity","Preaching","Ware, Corinne"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project explores the relationship of a spiritual typology to preaching substance and style. The author concluded that there are values and themes that Mennonite spirituality needs to preserve, even as it is recognized that the way to embody these themes is changing drastically."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Lancaster Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["77231467-10ce-4737-858a-8cc38e70a4f9"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1851873213091414016,"timestamp":"2025-12-18T18:52:00.566Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T08:04:42Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:37:11Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"4c8d6714-1f40-4255-a5e8-55de06393784","accessControl_ssim":["7d1643f2-ffde-4e2d-a384-1625f74c1242"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The signs of a healthy church: to evaluate and improve the spiritual health of Princeton Presbyterian Church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T08:04:41Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:22:52Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["0100b1e4-8946-496d-88dd-9f48b4cff120"],"hasLease_ssim":["7425a587-75a6-48f5-876d-b4ac29b5d31c"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Covenant Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Philip D Douglass"],"year_tesim":["1995"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Kenneth A Smith"],"publisher_tesim":["Covenant Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church--Biblical teaching","Congregations","Protestantism","Spiritual life--Christianity","Princeton Presbyterian Church","Presbyterian Church"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["While serving the community the local church faces the task of evaluating its own spiritual and temporal health and initiating changes that will promote health in areas deemed unhealthy.
