Being aware of the importance of musical expression, the author, a pastor and musician, compiled The Richmond Psalter.  Intended as an introduction to psalmody for those with little background, it contains musical settings for 28 psalms.  Each psalm is introduced by brief commentary regarding its formal structure and theological implications.
