The design included an in-depth interview with four women between the ages of forty-eight and seventy-six.  The analysis sought to identify the attachment patterns, discuss how those impacted personality, and discern if one's religious experience could modify those patterns. A theoretical structure is described, identifying this grief as a response to men's early developmental experience of lack of a father figure with whom to identify.  The author proposes that through a conscious grieving of the loss inherent in this early experience, men may have greater capacity to engage in relationship.  The argument is developed through literature review, self-in-relation theory and attachment theory. Excerpts from interviews illustrate the author's thesis and a theological grounding is developed for the analysis and healing. She concludes that teachers of women preachers can be most effective when they take into account the unique ways that women grow and learn. The training consisted of a weekend prayer retreat and a ten-week support group.  Each participant took the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and learned about their psychological type. Participants then learned four different types of prayer as taught in Prayer and Temperament: Different Prayer Forms of Different Personality Types by Chester P Michael and Marie C Norrisey. The program consisted of eight two-hour sessions, meeting one evening each week.  The author believed that by exposing women to women in the Scriptures through the lens of the work of women scholars, the women's self-esteem would be enhanced. The Hudson Index of Self-Esteem was the measure of the women's esteem.  A baseline test was given followed by the test taken at the end of each session.  The average of the women's scores indicated a 1.5 increase in
