His congregation is made up of soldiers who are twenty to twenty-two and do not like the army life.  However, the soldiers encounter religions by choice in the military service.  Many soldiers come into contact with Christianity.  The author has thought about what these young soldiers want in their own spiritual lives and how the military church can help them. The author therefore asked the following questions regarding military mission in the light of pastoral care: (1) What is the meaning of military service for men, and what is the meaning of the period of military service in the life cycle?  (2) What is the soldiers' life before enrollment in military service, and what do they think of their lives after their service is completed? To deepen the project the author used theological and psychological materials such as the theory of Donald Capps, the spiritual theology of Ponticus Evagrius, and the psychology of Korean people.  As a result of that practice, we obtained encouraging results.  When we heard others' inner stories, we used to hastily analyze and judge them.  But now we try to listen and sympathize. It provides a structure that encourages soldiers to reflect on their values, define their goals, identify and participate in activities that enhance recovery and begin their transition either back to their units or into civilian life. The cases are reviewed along four parameters that define basic conditions needed for a human being to be well and to thrive: i.e., connection, identity, freedom, and power; and from three perspectives: family systems using Edwin Friedman's work, individual psychology using Karen Horney's work, and spiritual theology using Ignatius of Loyola's Spiritual Exercises. Evaluating the effectiveness of the curriculum couples completed the Dyadic Adjustment scale, the Confidence Scale, the Relationship Scale, and the Marital Satisfaction Inventory, Revised. The psychological theories that are integrated for this thesis include Family Systems Theory, Structural Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy. The thesis was applied to a young married couple with the use of the Taylor Johnson Temperament Analysis, The Personality Self-Portrait by Multi-Health Systems, and the Prepare/Enrich Inventory assessment tools. Sarah Pierrepont Edwards is seens as extroverted, sensing, feeling, and judging type. Gilbert Tennent fell in the category of extroverted, intuitive, feeling, and perceiving type.
