This paper focuses on the recovery of soul and on the care of souls in the practice of pastoral care and counseling. Research focuses on the depth psychology of Carl Gustav Jung and the gospel of John. A comparison is made between the Self, the central archetype in the psychology of Carl Jung, and the Christ presented in archetypal symbols in John. Both address the creative, dynamic, unifying center of personality; Jung does so in psychological language, John in theological/christological language. A perspective of diagnosis and treatment is presented that is inclusive of the truths of the biological, behavioral, and cognitive modalities, as well as the existential and theological positions. Each of these theories is surveyed. A case study is presented as a model of the progressive perspective. Finally, intimacy in relation to God, others, and self is introduced as a theological response to anxiety."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["63ab0f5c-c5fb-460c-b8ba-dd2fd91f7145"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133419902599168,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:18:59.818Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:55:06Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:51:31Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"ab168501-1327-4851-bf1a-e8bd2f9f3e04","accessControl_ssim":["526c0c7f-80ed-44a5-baf8-e19f4d45a32c"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A training program for residence hall assistants at a Bible college"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:55:05Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:04:22Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["6b4a2c6a-431c-435f-a679-0a0e348285db"],"hasLease_ssim":["5cbd9ae8-a5ac-4467-a57b-6a0563b6970f"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"advisor_tesim":["Timothy M Warner"],"year_tesim":["1990"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Friedhelm R Loescher"],"publisher_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of Trinity International University"],"subject_tesim":["Students--Conduct of life","Christian education","Youth","Psychology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The author established a training program for residence hall assistants through the means of a three hour credit course called Psychology for Residence Leadership.
