A unified identity will be developed through an understanding of Baptist heritage and its unique story.  Lay people and clergy worked in harmony with each other in this process.  Two main elements directed this search: four special 'period' worship services, and an 'experimental' service (focused on a potential future worship style). Through two non-threatening questionnaires Eastridge Baptist Church evaluated its Sunday morning worship service.  The study benefited the congregation by revealing needed adjustments to details of its worship practice and by serving as a vehicle for the congregation and its new pastor to become better and more rapidly acquainted. The project included a study group that engaged in eight study sessions of the book of Psalms.  This group then divided into five sub-groups, each of which was responsible for the ordering and implementation of a worship service centered upon a theme from the Psalms.  The project also included the efforts of a project steering committee that sought to explore the plurality of the worshiping community through the use of oral interviews.
