I conducted the first parish-based Refraiming the Dialogue on Racism in America program. The project was a five-week course on racism in which thirty-six parishioners participated. Methodology of the study included a survey, spiritual autobiographies, and interviews. Findings revealed that participants did become more conscious of their whiteness, privilege, and power. This project makes an attempt to identify some of these challenges. It also offers strategies and methods to meet the difficulties. This paper explores factors that contribute to stagnation and transition of a community of faith. Factors as racial, historical, ethnic, and biblical/theological perspectives are components of developing a tactic toward change.
