Little support was found to relate receptivity to religious beliefs, motivation, or involvement, except for attendance patterns and for respondents who have women pastors. Effects of racism and sexism education differ significantly. The study more narrowly attempts to emphasize that churches and communities are in the midst of social (racial) and economic change and most churches facing transition wait too long to act.  The significance of cultural variety in our social system and its parallel implications speak to the ministry of the local church. Churches in racial-transitional communities come up against powerful social forces that make it extremely difficult for them to survive and carry on a ministry.
