GROUP used Gathering, Resources, Opportunities, Understandings, and Participants as key ingredients in eradicating the damaging effects of racism on African American males between the ages of 15 and 19. The research was done at St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Chicago, Illinois. Religious belief systems of African Americans informed the process. An exegesis of the multi-racial, multi-cultural makeup, which characterizes the Puget Sound region, is examined, and cultural dynamics and accompanying challenges are identified, understood, and articulated.
