The research methods used included a history of church and community, a neighborhood survey and an analysis of the church partnership between the two congregations, with an emphasis on race relations. The result was the development of a strategic plan for Garden Memorial Church and the development of programming for a Community Family Life Resource Center."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799716095735627776,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:56:57.326Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T19:22:28Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:51:36Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"1b1de9a7-29f3-4678-9419-065fe9edce2b","accessControl_ssim":["7768a537-29dd-406a-a02d-39582e3c8a1c"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Leadership development in the multiracial, multi-ethinic, multicultural congregation"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T19:22:28Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:55:44Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["65824622-d3fb-4111-8de8-9d49425bd62b"],"hasLease_ssim":["2cc7be80-e4f4-4ee4-9294-59b7aae04ebf"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Deborah J Kapp"],"year_tesim":["1999"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Anita E Hendrix"],"publisher_tesim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Congregations","Race relations","Leadership","Presbyterian Church"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["God calls the church to work for unity in the 'household of faith' while valuing diversity. Hunting Ridge Presbyterian Church developed a model for leadership training in our multiracial, multiethnic, multicultural congregation. This paper includes an examination of historical and contemporary attitudes toward integration. The model for leader development assures leadership diversity and access to power by newer members. Strategies employed include consciousness-raising events to encourage sensitivity to racial and cultural issues, skill building for small group leaders, training for officers to serve as mentors for emerging leaders, and implementing a new inventory for new members to identify their spiritual gifts."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["7eda0323-a6d9-4fe2-807a-22620dd389a5"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127925239578624,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:51:39.699Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":101,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
