The historical development of the Roman Catholic tradition's sacramental theology as delineated in the Baltimore Catechism, Thomas Aquinas, and seminary manuals provides the basis for this overview of selected works from Vatican Council II, official post-conciliar documents, and theologians Edward Schillebeeckx, Karl Rahner, Johann Baptist Metz, and Juan Luis Segundo. This project report describes a workshop which utilized research drawn from documents of the American Bishops' Committee on Priestly Life, the theology of Karl Rahner, and the developmental psychology of Erik Erikson.  The workshop, given on three occasions, enabled seminarians to examine their issues of personal growth within the broader perspectives of theology and psychology.
