Centering conversation surrounding the coordination of the covenant of life and divine simplicity in the Pactum will allow interpreters to work directly with the doctrine of beneficence and simplicity across the full range of redemptive history because the Pactum occurs within the ad intra life of God immediately. From this viewpoint, the interpreter can offer a more faithful coordination of divine beneficence and divine justice that allows them to delineate proper and improper ways of constructing the covenant of life based upon our understanding of divine beneficence and simplicity. Further, there is a redemptive framework that can inform and shape this developmental process in such a way that lives are changed, transformational leaders can be multiplied, and an organization (a church congregation in this case) may be nurtured into vibrancy and health. It is the desire of this writer that this thesis-project may not only articulate a guiding philosophy of developmental process at Faith Baptist Fellowship, but also create an intentional plan and structure for reproducing transformational leaders who possess and can assert their leadership in light of the redemptive leadership framework. This work investigates the immense consequences of resigning oneself to a detrimental thought life. It examines the relationships between antisocial behavior, substance abuse, and the origin of addictive thinking; focussing upon how every aspect of human development influences individual patterns of thought. The strategy is based on the redemptive thought causal loop diagram, and the development of a 'learning team' concept. This deliberation recognizes Jesus Christ as Lord and savior, and employs theological reflection to facilitate a biblical self-awareness via group process. It challenges the potential of people to change detrimental and status quo mental models in the face of individual and systemic adversity. The model emphasizes the overwhelming importance of the practitioner's conscious use of the Bible and prayer. The methodology both instructs and demonstrates that through the development of a biblical understanding of the thought process, one can begin to shape a healthier mind that is fully subject to God (2 Cor 10:5). The hypothesis is presented through the diverse cultural lens of the learning team and how they have managed to survive in spite of social exigencies. It explores the deep often unconscious, negative beliefs and assumptions held about themselves and society and brings hope through redemptive thought. The question the thesis poses, 'How can redemptive thought bring hope to an addictive personality?' is developed around the theme written by the apostle Paul found in the New Testament book addressed to Titus in chapter 2. Paul's argument challenges the men, by using theological reflection, to excavate Scriptural truth (see especially Titus 2:11-15)."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132861069262848,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:10:06.873Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:05:32Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:20:23Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"594817c1-d605-4e90-aaef-7643e9264653","accessControl_ssim":["406a4e64-335a-46a4-8b74-895fd4d9ba10"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Redemptive meaning of suffering and death"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:05:32Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:45:03Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["984c30eb-861d-46af-a00a-1183b9933b59"],"hasLease_ssim":["dc2bf8c4-ba39-490a-8f28-0b421bc2d81e"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"advisor_tesim":["Paul Huss"],"year_tesim":["1986"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Mary Gemma Neville"],"publisher_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"subject_tesim":["Death--Religious aspects--Christianity","Suffering--Biblical teaching","Jung, C. The themes throughout this paper are suffering, death, salvation, redemption, and resurrection. These are followed historically in the Old and New Testaments. Suffering in the OT is thought of variously as a punishment by God, an an educative process, as suffering caused by evil, etc. In the NT these views of suffering are modified in the light of Jesus' suffering, death and resurrection. Resurrection to life in the spirit completes the victory over suffering, sin, and death. The third and fourth chapters deal with these themes from a psychological perspective using the ideas of Jung and Frankl. Frankl's emphasis is the importance of finding meaning in suffering; Jung emphasizes the creative use of suffering. Chapter five is a theological perspective on the pain of God and our human dilemma. Shared suffering is important, and God shares our suffering. In the final chapter I have integrated suffering, death, and resurrection into my ministry."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["63ab0f5c-c5fb-460c-b8ba-dd2fd91f7145"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133510973521920,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:20:26.670Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:07:12Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:37:30Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"44e9dca7-d014-49c6-a5f6-08ac8a0f9f2c","accessControl_ssim":["e58ed9d8-60ea-41c8-8119-493d1215dfa6"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The integration of two theological dimensions of Advent for an adult study curriculum"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:07:11Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:07:48Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["b47fe19c-e8ae-4dc9-ac60-001d5a6abfd9"],"hasLease_ssim":["c528bf82-60db-479e-a6ff-73b2335dfd7c"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Boston University"],"advisor_tesim":["Horace T Allen"],"year_tesim":["1984"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Henry F Woodruff"],"publisher_tesim":["Boston University School of Theology"],"subject_tesim":["Bible--Study","Judgment","Christian education of adults","Theology","Bible. Centering on the Fourth Gospel, the study integrates two theological dimensions of Advent, judgement and redemption. The fundamental theological program is that in the moment of encounter with Christ, by one's choice judgement is exercised upon oneself and the possibility of redemption either claimed or rejected. Lesson plans, background material on the Fourth Gospel, and study guides are included, as well as liturgies and sermons for Advent.
