As a resource for an intentional, specialized approach to missionary preparation, a survey of relevant literature, a review of key socio-religious moments in the development of Pentecostalism in Russia, and an examination of theological concerns of the Orthodox context guides the reader toward a clearer understanding of Russian Pentecostals. A case study of a Lutheran/Catholic ecumenical parish will provide a possible model that could be followed. A local church can be a catalyst for change by challenging its members to make room for the other, thereby experiencing growth and development as spiritual beings.  The thesis was developed in a project that included taped pre- and post- interviews with selected members of the congregation. Chapter 1 presents the problem and states the goals as the solution to the problem. Chapter 2 addresses the biblical rationale for enhancing inter-church Christian fellowship. Chapter 3 shows the credence given to the rationale of the project through the sociological environment, the corporate world, and society in general, for example, the growing place of women in the professional business and public life and the growing importance of the issue in ecumenical relationships, school life, and workplace experiences. In Chapter 4, the focus is the actual procedures of the research project. This chapter encompasses the step-by-step procedure. Some 'moderate' Baptist churches have abandoned it as an absolute requirement for church membership.  Theoretical considerations (biblical, theological, ecumenical) underpin such abandonment. Yet practical considerations (psychological, sociological, and ecclesial) contend even more compellingly for retention.  This project champions immersion as an almost absolute requirement for membership in Baptist churches. This project documents the process of cooperation between the governing bodies of the two congregations to form this covenant agreement and the mutual ministries they share. Venture in Faith shares the physical facilities and several programs.  The study explores difficulties encountered in reaching the agreement and also current concerns.  It projects future possibilities for mutual mission. Friendships were pursued first among church members and then among those outside of the church from community and business contacts.  Ten class sessions were conducted which were comprised of lectures, discussions, role-play and outside of class assignments. Two lecturers from the community shared insights on making friends and how to overcome barriers.
