Canadian Armed Forces"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This is a pilot program designed to identify the types of issues and skills useful to chaplains and other health care professionals working with military members suffering from symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  As a result, a spiritual health presentation was developed and taught to a group of seven military members of the Canadian Armed Forces as part of a psycho-educational PTSD group program.  Administration of questionnaires and verbal responses was the the basis of the evaluation of effectiveness. A worship-centered, sickle cell pain intervention support group was developed, implemented and evaluated for six weeks.  Subjects were their won control group.  Using a 0-10 Numeric Pain Inventory Scale (NPIS) subjects measured personal pre- and post-intervention pain levels.  Analysis of NPIS data on both first and last visits showed subjects' pain levels significantly reduced following interventions.  Summary and analysis of patients' comments corroborated and strengthened the analytical results. It begins by outlining the theological basis for the study. The project then contrasts western and non-western worldviews, detailing some of the assumptions underlying each one, and comparing western worldview constructs with the mysticism of Java. Following an extended case study there are nineteen interactive reflective studies on specific themes related to spiritual conflicts. Missionaries and missionary candidates evaluated the interactive studies. The methods used in this research are from the perspectives of biblical theology, systematic theology, historical theology, sociology, futurology, statistics, and practical theology. There are two parts of this research. The first part is the foundation of world missions and its development, including four chapters: The Bible and World Missions; The Church and World Mission; Church History and World Missions; Era and World Missions. The second part is the investigation of world missions and its implementation in the Chinese churches, including two chapters: A Survey for Mission Ministries of the Chinese Churches; and, Implementation of Mission Ministries of the Chinese Churches. Specifically, the dissertation pursues the question: what benefits, possibilities, barriers, and limitations need to be considered for interdisciplinary ministry collaboration to be fostered between faith community (parish) nurses and faith group leaders in promoting a renewal of both faith and health in times of transition?  Data was gathered over five years. Patients from Florida Hospital Family Health Center completed the Religiosity Coping Index.
