The project motivates and trains members of First United Methodist Church (Hemingway, S Car) to become volunteer tutors with children in Hemingway Primary School for six weeks in 1996. Needs become apparent and resistant attitudes change. Volunteers become so involved in rewards of one-on-one ministry that they put aside racial issues.
