The goals of the project were (1) to develop evaluative instruments for use in assessing a student's progress, and (2) to produce a manual for pastors conducting internship programs suitable for general use among the brotherhood of Christian Churches of Christ. 'From the garden to the crib' portrayed some significant events of salvation history from Adam and Eve to the nativity.  A questionnaire was administered before and after the pageant to the cast, a sampling of the audience and a religious education class of eighth graders. The 23 lessons are constructed around discipleship themes containing biblical teachings, Anabaptist writings and contemporary writings related to the theme, plus journaling exercises, a spiritual exercise and a discipling session.
