The project was completed in fifteen faculty meetings by following a validation copy of Leroy Ford's A Curriculum Design Manual for Theological Education: a Learning Outcomes Focus.  The manual proceeds from a broad purpose statement through scope, educational goals, educational objectives, context, instructional models, and administrative model to specific course descriptions. Results indicate that: lay people can be effectively engaged in theological reflection; lay training committees can be significant vehicles for developing new partnership perspectives in the church and seminary; and that interaction developed within the process can have transforming effects upon relationships within the church, and can assist in refocusing the sense of calling for clergy, seminarians and laity. Elements of the study included acquainting participants with the grammar/vocabulary of visual and literary art, enabling group members to see connections between the creative process and the spiritual journey, exploring wholistic definitions of art, artist, evangelism and evangelist, and studying biblical material in a creative way that empowers people to live more intentionally in a scriptural context.
