The project also seeks to affirm laity in the process of ministerial formation. Three program goals include: (1) to establish local church lay support committees for students, (2) to hold a three hour conference, involving faculty, students, and laity, on laity's involvement in theological education, and (3) provide supervisory training for laity through on-site visits by faculty. This was accomplished through the supervised ministry course that Roman Catholic seminarians undergo during formation years.  It acquainted the seminarians with the techniques that each developed to open themselves up and to protect themselves from other people.
