The client's struggle with guilt relates to a full theological understanding of human sin and God's forgiveness. Closeness and distance in human relationships relate theologically to sin and redemption. Responsibility in relationships is reflected in the love and faithfulness of Christ in his sacrifice for his body, the church. It begins with a critical assessment of the approaches of O. Hobard Mowrer and Jay E. Adams and proceeds to the contemporary proclamation of grace in preaching as well as in counseling, and takes issue corporally with both writers' views of Freudian psychoanalysis.  The project seeks to integrate a responsible concept of a doctrine of justification with Freudian psychoanalysis.
