A biblical model for revival based on 2 Chronicles 7:14 is presented, along with compelling historical illustrations, and a tour of sites associated with revival and awakening in the Housatonic Valley region.  Together they demonstrate that when pastors and churches set themselves to preparing their hearts for renewing, God sends it. Prime's The power of prayer and Talbot Chambers's The noon prayer meeting of the North Dutch Church, Fulton Street, New York, this study seeks to expand the narrative to include the historical material of the time.  This project includes an examination of literature seeking relevant opinions and insights into the Fulton Street prayer meetings.  The foundational historical framework for the revival is presented in two elements.  First, an examination is made of the historical context of the revival, including changes in the United States from 1812 to the Civil War, focusing on the economic, geographic, political, journalistic, and social elements.
