The church implemented a leadership program to teach youth how to manage a media ministry. Youth were taught by multi-media specialists principles of pre-production, production, post-production, and promotion. Using a questionnaire for pre- and post-test, levels of self-esteem were measured. Results show that media ministry activities contribute to the maintenance of youth's positive self-esteem. Further results show support for the thesis that the youth of today can contribute greatly to the local church. The project proposes that study of faith relationships will result in better self-concepts for children and teenagers. Research in leading authors and surveys supports the thesis that Christian religious education does have a positive effect on both faith-maturity and self-esteem.  The project conducted a study with a middle-school Sunday school class designed to help them enhance self-concepts as children of God. The project describes a feminist understanding of sin, the sin of hiding or self-negation, and offers some suggestions about how wilderness adventure therapy might be incorporated into a more wholistic model of pastoral care and counseling. When the survivor fails to attend to his sexual needs and desires, he experiences this as wounding and defends against the fragmentation of his masculine self by activating his 'masculine defense,' a masculinized narcissistic defensive structure.  Empathic attunement is provided and the wounds experienced and defenses activated in relation to the survivor are interpreted in the context of the partners' own history of trauma.
