The sermon preparation process develops a synthetic outline, propositions (exegetical, theological and homiletical) for sermon portions and message outlines. The communication strategy designs sermons to persuasively preach elements of discipleship.  The spiritual journey evaluation measures congregational change in discipleship attitudes and actions.  The post-test assesses relative effects of other variables.  The congregation demonstrated increased discipleship, though the difference was not statistically significant. The research project consists of eight parishioners' responses to six imagistic sermons. The researcher concludes that the use of image plays a significant role in the transformation of the hearers and the preacher.  He suggets that while the use of images is one key in the transformational process, opportunity for sermon reflection is also important.
