A worship pastor has the opportunity to shape the church and strengthen the effectiveness of its mission. First, the shepherd metaphor and shepherd leadership were examined. Second, an exploration of servant leadership and transformational leadership was conducted. Finally, interviews with eight worship pastors were conducted to determine how they perceive their leadership and how they lead. The author analyzed data by the practical theology method of mutual critical correlation. Volunteers expressed a value for experiencing a sense of belonging, welcoming new persons onto ministry teams, experiencing a sense of shared leadership, the importance of pastoral leadership, and strong biblical motivations for ministry. The author examined the meaning and importance of volunteer works from the Bible and history. Next, the author practiced a project called 'Diakonia Training School' for five weeks for ten members of Beautiful Church. All of the participants experienced many changes in their personal faith and the community of faith through the training. The ministry paradigm is transferring from a vertical and hierarchical structure of ministry to a horizontal structure including the laity.
