In order to accomplish the goals of this project, the project director researched the topic of leadership and identified various skills of servant leadership. From the skills identified, the director identified two and researched them further: 'the character of a servant leader' and 'the vision of a servant leader.' The project consisted of a leadership workshop made up of five one-hour sessions given over a perios of Friday evening through Saturday morning. The first session was an introduction to servant leadership. In sessions two and three, about the character of a servant leader, the focus was on the skills of humility, values, and integrity. Consequently, a description of the Chinese pastoral leadership role in missions mobilization was constructed, through integrating the findings from interviewing the research participants with a comparative study of some biblical characters in both Old and New Testaments, the teaching of Christ on servant leadership, and the Chinese traditional paradigm of paternal headship. A biblical blueprint for spiritual gifts from Ephesians 4 was studied as well as the functional approach to motivation. Participants took a mission trip to visit a rural church school in Haiti and were then interviewed about their experience. Family systems theory and the theology of service and relationships informed the project and the interpretation of the outcomes. New, lasting interpersonal bonds among the travelers were evident, as were strengthened ties to the sister institutions. The method used to determine the impact of servant leadership was a questionnaire designed to assess attitudinal changes after people had participated in servant related activities.  The results of the survey showed substantial positive impact on the participants' cognitive, affective, relational, and spiritual attitudes. As a result, the church is faced with spiritual stagnation that keeps it from growing.  The church has tried in vain to employ various programs to get over this.  Based on the pastoral analysis that the dullness of the class meeting is attributed to the lack of spirit and performance of the class leaders, this paper explores the ten components of servant leadership as a way of restoring the roles of the class leader and activating the function of the class meeting. The Robert K. Greenleaf Center's emphasis, 'Servant leader's ten characteristics,' was made in to the Bible study teaching material, 'Do as I have done for you.'  The teaching material was aimed at the participants who wanted to attend the Ames Korean United Methodist Church small group leadership class.  'A Bible study for servant leadership as lay leadership training program' was successfully executed.  In order to measure the effect on the lay leader training program, the first program of participants completed an assessment of the program.  In order to measure the awareness of changes as a servant leader, the second program of participants completed another assessment.
