Research in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church indicates that a sense of belonging is related to the age of the member.  While 90 percent of those above age 65 claimed a strong loyalty and attachment to the church, only 65 percent of those below age 45 expressed a sense of belonging. Twenty-one members from an established congregation became the nucleus for the Augusta Church.  A ten-part church-planting plan was developed.  Northern New England church-planting vision progressed as the successful impact of the Augusta, Maine, church planting project unfolded.  The church plant has been successful following the church-plant plan. Two questionnaires were used in a quantitative analysis: Parental Bonding Instrument (modified), and the Valuegenesis survey. The findings revealed that bonding factors for Adventist young people can be determined.  A reliable bonding scale was constructed from six items measuring commitment to Jesus, religious faith, the local congregation, and the denomination as well as frequency of attendance at worship services.  The scale had a reliability alpha of .81 with item scale correlations ranging from .45 to .72. Biblical and missiological reflections were supported by a study of the overall and financial status of the Egyptian SDA Church by means of surveys, interviews, charts and graphs.  It was discovered that the Egyptian SDA Church is fast approaching a state of deterioration and decay that must be addressed promptly and reversed. This project is an historical overview of Seventh-Day Adventist and African religious culture, seeking to extract the principal tenets of each tradition to blend them into a more dynamic worship style that is appealing to the African American community and faithful to the traditions and objectives of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church at the same time.  This project suggests that since traditional Black Seventh-Day Adventist public evangelism typically combines 'the truth' (rationality) with rhythm (emotion), by coloring the weekly worship service with these elements, a dynamic worship style could result. Based on the above studies, a health education program for Seventh-Day Adventists in Japan that incorporates the concept of psychosomatic relationships was designed. The study also gives a model for baptismal preparation.  The method of study is a survey sent to two groups, adults who were baptized when junior youth and pastors and teachers in the KS-NE conference. The results show that the expectations differ between the two groups with respect to peer influence, personal conviction, and religious behavior. This thesis explores ways by which the Seventh-Day Adventist Church can adapt radio broadcasting for social change and evangelism in Ghana. Thus, a study of literature on the art of religious broadcasting, contracts by letters, and interviews and surveys were made to find practical and innovative approaches to contexualized radio evangelism. The study was based on 250 interviews with persons who have become disassociated with the church and with those who are active church leaders and lay persons.  The interviews revealed that the major factor for both apostasy and inactive membership was problems concerning marriage and divorce.  A second factor was lack of support in times of crisis.  Other causes were movement between cities and decline in spiritual life.  The conclusion highlights several causes of apostasy.
