Four films were used to deal with four topics. The films were: When Harry Met Sally, Driving Miss Daisy, Ordinary People, and Terms of Endearment.  The films chosen dealt with human sexuality, racism, dysfunctional families, and death, respectively.  Biblical research was done in the area of the church and images.  Sociological and psychological research was done related to students and the four topics.  Testing was done with a control group of 12 students and a group of at-large students. The field project developed an assessment instrument for use by lay persons or other hearers of a preacher to identify words used to describe their experience of charisma with that preacher.
