To address this question the author used the pro-active research method, meeting with the three age groups weekly for twelve weeks. The author assumed that lectio, practiced in a small group, would not only deepen one's relationship with God, but would invite faith sharing from one's life story. Interventions focused on an immediate need to share leadership more broadly in the church to avoid burning out leaders. Interventions included restructuring, spiritual gifts inventories, classes, and mentoring.
