Representatives of thirty-nine small churches participated in workshops and developed an appreciative inquiry process that they used in their churches. This project is one that studied and utilized a learned understanding of the system dynamics of two small church families; then incorporated specific spiritual disciplines, such as, Christ-centered spiritual acts of worship, biblical infusion in the church's life, and pointed spiritual practices at places of corporate conflict. Eleven study participants photographed common parish events to communicate self-selected themes.  These elements were grounded in everyday life, conveying the integration of traditional Anglican values with challenges of multicultural life in a northwest Detroit neighborhood.  Through discussion and group process, a congregational mission statement evolved as 'Christian community spreading out into secular community.' To achieve this goal, an alliance was formed and participants were engaged in unified multi-denominational and multi-cultural ministries such as prayer services, social gatherings and worship services.  Together the practicing churches took the presence of God into the community in the form of practical ministry: cleanup, vacation Bible school, and worship service in a city park. The author of this dissertation believes it can and has used a qualitative research design that included pastoral and congregational interviews as well as Christian and secular literature to support his assertion that congregations must have pastoral leadership committed to grace principles to be biblically successful. The author gives a practical method for starting a cell church in Bangkok, including prayer, establishing leadership cell, transplanting, opening cell groups, and organizing a cell church.
