The leaders were trained to accomplish these purposes by learning a transitioning process which emphasized effective teamwork. The process of accomplishing the purpose of the project began with researching transitional approaches which have been used to transition Bible study groups into cell groups. Research focused on transitional methods that assist in changing from existing organizational structures into new organizational structures. The next stage of the project involved developing training materials for the purpose of equipping selected leaders to transition their small groups from Bible study small groups into purpose-driven, team-based cell groups. The materials were developed using a defined standard that is described in William R. Yount's book entitled Created to Learn. The final stage of the project involved the recruitment and training of selected Bible study leaders. All current Bible study leaders were invited to participate in the training process. The selected leaders who were trained consisted of those who agreed to attend all training sessions. The training was conducted to equip those leaders to transition their small Bible study groups into a new cell group model."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5e492469-490e-44a3-90c1-17560a603bc2"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799719442472501248,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:50:09.023Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:18:13Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:46:41Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"d617d3cd-e695-4b5a-8767-2b43fd66c6ca","accessControl_ssim":["58937d38-4a90-4683-b429-2f29530bf01f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Missional covenant groups: equipping God's people for ministry"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:18:09Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:15:13Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["14408958-da00-4127-9a41-8d6e7483888b"],"hasLease_ssim":["e058acd7-1246-4e66-ac27-cfca327747b2"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["John D Sharick"],"year_tesim":["2004"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Raymond I Hylton"],"publisher_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Faith development","First Presbyterian Church (New Castle, Pa)","Spiritual formation","Small groups"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project documents the process used to develop leaders and small groups at First Presbyterian Church in New Castle, Pennsylvania. This results in lack of a loving relationship among her members. The above phenomenon of DPC, the lack of a loving relationship or concern for one another is reflected in the fact that small group team ministry does not thrive in DPC. Ideally, small group ministry would flourish and would lead to spiritual growth and revitalization at DPC. The DPC would then be able to regain the shape of a loving community. When spiritual growth occurs that comes from team ministry centered on thriving small groups, DPC can be revitalized to become a dynamic church with motivation for missions and service. Stumbling blocks in the way of growth include ignorance of the current state of DPC and a lack of vision concerning for the future of DPC, as well as resistance to change on the part of members. Theological, biblical, historical, and cultural bases of small group ministry are examined in this study, as well as the positive and negative aspects of identity among Korean immigrants. The study suggests ways to bring about change. The study ends with a consideration of its meaning and significance."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["McCormick Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["7eda0323-a6d9-4fe2-807a-22620dd389a5"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128771173023744,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:05:06.444Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:13:29Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:48:37Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"ee8263c0-da4e-4c0c-9196-c3e4ed7e86c7","accessControl_ssim":["8b76f0c8-0b50-433a-a72c-4459b2a7dbdb"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Ministry with a new minority: fostering male spirituality in a small group setting"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:13:29Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:56:33Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["63054531-044d-4ee9-bef7-c9d850ddca5b"],"hasLease_ssim":["546e49d1-4e33-4cbf-9e6d-33d9eb305d73"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Kent Ira Groff"],"year_tesim":["2004"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["David R Clark"],"publisher_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Interpersonal relations","Spiritual formation","Small groups","Church work with men"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project developed two series of small group meetings for interested men of the Fort Burd United Presbyterian Church of Brownsville, Pa., where women outnumber men by two to one.
