Phase one will consist of the establishment of a group composed of ten to twelve postmodern persons. This group will be surveyed, interviewed, and will participate in a group discussion of issues relevant to the postmodern. The project leader will facilitate these meetings over a ten-week period. This group will seek to add new members weekly through the outreach efforts of the participants. Attendance records will be maintained, and the assimilation of postmoderns into the church will be measured via the Bible study ministry of the church. In the second phase a group of twenty to twenty-five church leaders will be assimilated to help evaluate how the church is responding to the needs of postmoderns. These participants will be surveyed and interviewed and will participate in a discussion of issues identified by the postmodern participants. The knowledge of these church leaders will be measured via pre and post tests. Phase three will be implemented in the worship service through a series of sermons designed to address the needs of a postmodern generation. Participants of both groups will conduct an analysis of the worship. The purpose of this project is to develop and enhance the church's efforts to engage postmoderns and to claim the postmodern context for Jesus Christ. It is built upon a biblical framework that offers the Christian worldview as plausible and credible to the postmodern person. It chooses to train church leaders concerning the postmodern context and seeks to initiate relationships between the postmodern, a community of faith, and church leadership."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b2ad2862-737d-4dde-8145-b9b6962ac5f3"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133093362401280,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:13:48.405Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:07:02Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:10:31Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"59772c77-e6eb-47e3-95a4-5a347bd745d9","accessControl_ssim":["8cc2ade2-cd2a-4ca8-adc9-c0e5a69f293a"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Soaring with both wings: the development of a cell group ministry at St Luke's United Methodist Church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:07:02Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:45:36Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["7d6bee20-a3dd-4198-a0db-6062d34fc234"],"hasLease_ssim":["7b4b05c5-652b-4da6-b1d4-a88536d16fd7"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Susan L Kendall"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Michael C Richards"],"publisher_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Small groups","Church group work"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this project is to develop a cell or holistic small group ministry at St Luke's United Methodist Church. Participants reported the highest desire for affiliation to their church, followed by a desire for peer approval, and last by a desire for approval by authority figures."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Ashland Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["beb93775-0b27-4cc6-9fb0-f2ad62e68517"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131477895806976,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:48:07.776Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:51:33Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:32:11Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"fae1328a-60ff-4a3d-bff6-b09dc259013e","accessControl_ssim":["a9444626-424a-41ca-acdf-71449e4870cc"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Articulating their faith: valuing small group theological reflection in the local church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:51:33Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:18:02Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["78d1ec48-8acf-42f0-87b3-b18001a1fce4"],"hasLease_ssim":["2721a62e-e245-4ec3-ad5f-0a4721a1044d"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"advisor_tesim":["Julieann S Hallman"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Bruce P MacLeod"],"publisher_tesim":["Andover Newton Theological School"],"subject_tesim":["Small groups","Theology","Church group work"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The old, mainline New England religious ethos has not encouraged people to talk about faith. Results show that all students had beneficial experiences; greatest healing occurred in participants' ability to trust God, embrace truth and forgive. Less than fifty percent had negative experiences; most negative experiences involved group conflict. The course component that best promoted healing was the action of the Holy Spirit; worship had the least
