My thesis-project tested a five-week annual small group curriculum at Harvest Bible Chapel and the results strongly recommend the use of the curriculum. Seven congregants participated in a six-week Bible study on God's will for divine health with a focus on God's goodness. Each session included prayer, worship, lecture, discussion, and reflective journaling. Interviews, surveys, field notes, and journaling validated the qualitative case studies. Results indicate obstacles were identified, and four out of six participants that identified obstacles chose to begin the process of overcoming those obstacles. The project was to change participant's assumptions about questions, to help them realize the importance of questions, and to develop skills in using questions. The purpose was to discern any change in their thinking about questions and in their use of questions. The project involved research in the general field of discipleship and in triad of quad disciple-making. The project director developed lesson plans and led the equipping seminars. An average of forty-six adults participated in the seminars. Seminar participants evaluated their spiritual awareness through the use of a pre-seminar assessment and then at the end of the equipping seminar participants took the same assessment. Results of pre- and post- assessment were compared. Through action research and narrative inquiry, critical events in the workplace journeys of individuals are heard, recorded, and evaluated in test groups. Results show that as the storytellers gained new insight through recalling and reflecting on workplace episodes, test groups found their stories effective in stimulating meaningful dialog on work. From this project, a narrative pathway paradigm has emerged to identify, record and disseminate workplace testimonies as a small group curriculum.
