An understanding of congregational conflict is sought in the small church set in the rural (town and country) community. Ten principles are identified for cultivating the preacher's spiritual health so they are prepared to preach. Sixteen principles are identified for sculpting the preacher's message to manage conflict from the pulpit. The project director utilized the ministry skills enhancement model to develop this project. He researched effective preaching principles through the development of an annotated bibliography. Upon determination of those effective preaching principles, the project director developed a series of four sermons. The first is how does a post feminist preacher bridge the divide between evangelical traditional theology and social activism? The second is how can she persevere in pastoral ministry for the long haul? As she worked through her own story she discovered that preaching was a significant means for expressing the duality of her theology. The project developed a handbook from which lessons were taught, set forth a normative framework to guide the worship planners, and evaluated the outcome of a month's worth of worship services in order to identify areas where a Christian worldview perspective could be more fully integrated into the corporate worship setting. The research design involved literature reviews, evaluation and feedback from participants in the study, and survey research and evaluations of Sunday morning worship services. What may appear to some as a crisis of ambiguity about the nature and place of the Ten Commandments in the public and religious spheres in America could be regarded as an opportunity for clarity on the part of preachers.  The study addresses the need for Church of God preachers to engage in cultural dialogue through a fresh preaching of the Ten Commandments.  The literature review surveys scholarly works regarding the context and meaning of the Decalogue in the Old and New Testaments, the meaning of the Commandments in light of a corrosive postmodern value system, and views of scholars and preachers regarding how to preach the Ten Commandments. The study included interviews with six Church of God Movement preachers, with the goal of learning about their experences related to the place of the Decalogue in the pulpit.
