The author has sought to describe those changes and then to understand how the community has responded to them. The author interviewed 13 rural residents from southern Manitoba from different age groups, sexes, point of entry into the rural world, and denominational bearings. Two different definitions of community emerged: community predicated upon geography, and community predicated upon choice. It explores the use of theological reflection by supervisor and church planter in order to be relevant in an ever-changing ministry environment.    The method used for this project is what is known as the 'grounded theory' approach, because the project calls for qualitative research that seeks to include diversity and quality assessment, both biblically and theologically, to build theory grounded in reality.
