Gospels","Presbyterian Church","Social sciences"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The scope of the project included an examination of the history and philosophy of leadership from social science literature and the management field (Drucker and Peters), as well as an inductive study of the four Gospels to discover what Jesus taught and exemplified on leadership. Questionnaires were sent to 150 (99 returned) Presbyterian pastors.  The findings of these three studies were then correlated.  The results suggested 5 major styles of leadership: charismatic (Weber), dictatorial, participative, democratic, and laissez faire. The approach was an enhancement of Holland's and Henriot's 'pastoral circle.' The structure of the approach is informed by cases of abusive children.  Two case studies are offered with reflection on the approach developed and abusive children themselves.  Results showed the approach to be positive especially in combining input from theology and social sciences.  The children were noted to be unrealistic in their assessment of their relationships with other family members.
