While the original purpose of WNA was to serve a support function, it appeared that they soon operated with management authority. Professor John Kotter, author of Leading change and The heart of change, is often cited as an authority on corporate culture change. This paper researches the inception and implementation of WNA and analyses the implementation process in light of the eight steps of corporate change recommended by Kotter. Additionally, we look at Kotter's principles of change in comparison to the principles of change implemented by Nehemiah in the rebuilding of the wall of Jerusalem, as cited in the biblical account of Nehemiah."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130984427552768,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:40:17.168Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T06:40:13Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:44:51Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0963273b-19dc-4a23-b6e0-7dcd1099a81f","accessControl_ssim":["f87c3e6c-388d-4465-af1f-255a51f5e26d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The networking community: implications of subculture and network theory for rebuilding the urban church community"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T06:40:12Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:23:06Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["286c88c7-b8f9-44a1-b3cc-9ea6861a0796"],"hasLease_ssim":["fe018806-60d4-4459-b020-24c27ddf2884"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Elizabeth Steele"],"year_tesim":["1997"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Richard A Miles"],"keyword_tesim":["Church and community"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Community--Religious aspects","Church renewal","City missions","Sociology, Urban","Sociology, Biblical"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project proposes that the tide of decline among contemporary urban congregations can be turned through a biblical understanding of community. It uses recent scholarship which claims that Israel came into existence in the Highlands around 1250 BCE as a federation of heterogenous groups of marginalized people. The author reconstructs both the person and the book of Amos by relying on works by Gottwald, Hopkins and Coote. This sociological approach provides the preacher with new insights into the Biblical tradition and illuminates numerous connections of consequence for today's society. Three sermons are included to illustrate such connections."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Lancaster Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["77231467-10ce-4737-858a-8cc38e70a4f9"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1851873126241009664,"timestamp":"2025-12-18T18:50:37.739Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":2,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
