A seminar presented spiritual growth insights from developmental psychology and encouraged small-group interaction about these concepts to help Christians re-examine their own spiritual progress, develop new understanding of biblical and Christian ideas about spiritual growth, and plan intentionally for their own continuing spiritual growth. Fifteen pastors and twenty-eight parishioners were interviewed concerning pastoral visitation.  There are biblical and historical reasons for the pastor to visit parishioners to share the Christian faith and to give spiritual guidance.  The majority of the pastors interviewed visit in hospitals and homes where there is illness or crisis, but not routinely all parishioners.  Parishioners want this pastor to visit them regularly, but by appointment.  They want the visit to be social. This project shows that spiritual direction enhances the marriages of five couples in a suburb of Omaha, Nebraska, as they share their experiences of God with each other. This was presented in a seminar to a select group of Assemblies of God ministers from the San Francisco Bay Area from January to April of 2001. The workshop helped these leaders investigate this tool to determine if they would like to pursue its use and offered assistance in how to find a spiritual direction relationship. A handbook entitled the Beginner's guide to spiritual direction relationships (SDR) is included which workshop participants read along with attending eight sessions to discuss the handbook and other topics related to SDR. It is our conviction that those whose ministry it is to make disciples of Jesus Christ need to be helped in making sure they are attending to becoming disciples themselves. Faith mentoring is understood as accompaniment that assists in vocational, relational and spiritual growth. Following Sandra Matthei's model for faith mentoring, three dimension of faith mentoring are discussed (incarnational, contextual, relational) and four roles explored (guide, guarantor, model, mediator).  The method of addressing each correspondent was informed by social analysis concerning Filipino cultural values and Charles Taylor's three stage metanoia model. Transformation occurs where our body, mind, and soul converge and this process can be enabled by creativity. I designed and implemented a Christian formational model to support the integration of creativity to spiritual direction via the expressive arts (music, visual, literary, and movement). A qualitative study augmented by cognitive and theopoetic orientations captured participation of spiritual directors in an expressive arts workshop and the field application of these methods.
