The method of study was qualitative, using a small group structure of four pastors in the United Methodist tradition.  It applied the use of interview, journal, and questionnaire.  The results showed a marked improvement in the perceived awareness of one's felt presence with God. The concept of the risen Christ as the beginning of the new creation was used to affect the participants' formation in four areas: care for material creation, care for our physical bodies, proper understanding of God-centered worship, and continual dependence on Christ our Shepherd. Participants were tested before and after the project and showed much of the desired formational improvement. After independently engaging these offerings, they gathered in discussion groups to further explore the material. A wide range of artistic media was introduced into the worship, education and spiritual formation activities of the Gateway Christian Church, of Los Angeles, California. These media included the visual arts, drama, photography and multimedia presentations. The impact of the arts was evaluated through questionnaires, personal interviews and direct observations. Spiritual formation, as measured by increased hospitality and inclusiveness, was positively impacted by the project.
