The literature review, interviews, and focus group revealed shifts: in understanding the Trinity more relationally than judicially; in choosing to follow Jesus because of kingdom vision more than need of salvation; in shaping more through group manuscript Bible study than through a daily quiet time alone with God. Robert Clinton. A qualitative, phenomenological study was conducting using Moustakas' (1994) modified Van Kaam method. The study explored lived experiences with the objective of developing an innovative formation model. The study resulted in the development of formation concepts which would support Christian men who are attempting to live out their full redemptive potential. Using a qualitative case study method, observations from the wight men were presented in a conversational sequence, and then analyzed for significant themes that were unique to the discipleship experience. The means to spiritual growth were identified, as were the hindrances to spiritual growth. Implementation was the main qualitative research method used. The main objective was to implement five different components into the small group ministry with the hope that group participation would increase to a percentage which reflected Central Church's stated vision that small groups were an important way to connect. Statistically, findings from this study suggested a positive effect of mentoring enrichment training on all outcomes. The congregation was surveyed using the REVEAL Spiritual Life Survey. The researcher then led a strategic planning process to clarify the purpose, vision, values, and direction of the church. Changes were implemented based on survey data and group input before the same survey was administered again. Christian spiritual formation is the process whereby Christians are conformed to the image of Christ. Extroverted Christian women (tested using Myers Briggs Type Indicator) participated in group practice of spiritual disciplines over a four month period. Quantitative analysis included a behavioral questionnaire and the Spiritual Assessment Inventory. Qualitative analysis was based on individual interviews. The project was implemented with a select group of members of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church who desired to increase their understanding and skills in seven spiritual disciplines. The teaching component consisted of seven sessions which were taught in three distinct learning domains in select believers' lives. The focus was on the heart of the believer because I am convinced that leadership development and committed participation are intimately linked with proper, effective spiritual formation. To prepare for the project, I researched appropriate literature, and established a core group of believers who were willing to participate. Twenty-two believers initially participated in the first workshop, and most continued through the seven-week project. The methodology utilized to accomplish this goal was the qualitative approach. The results revealed that as persons gained a better awareness of themselves, they were better able to draw from their experiences to form relationships with other people, the crux of new faith communities.
