Seven small group leaders met over a period of nine months researching the biblical profile of a disciple, process of disciple-making, and evaluating the discipleship strategies of three exemplary churches. From their research team members developed a discipleship strategy that encourages small group leaders to disciple participants in pairs or triads. Guided by the disciple's profile, discipleship will be tailored to the learning style, personality, and spiritual needs of each person, resulting in a growing disciple of Christ."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c654e922-76d0-4427-ac29-e286b7997781"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717239274864640,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:15:07.890Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:56:09Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:13:49Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"de3db9ed-d878-4df6-acff-35e107de4ef9","accessControl_ssim":["c1fa8464-e558-444d-b827-21ba25f06526"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The practical implications of a theology of the cross: developing a spiritual basis for college students in a college ministry setting"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:56:08Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:29:52Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["fc660fe7-d8b2-4412-9bf0-bf17e7179230"],"hasLease_ssim":["19b3a57b-945b-4501-826d-665926fb6a0f"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["William David Kirkpatrick"],"year_tesim":["2006"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Jeffrey T Kennon"],"keyword_tesim":["Campus ministry"],"publisher_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Theology of the cross","Sam Houston State University","Students--Religious life","Spiritual formation","Church work with students"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This Doctor of Ministry Project provided a theological basis for the developing spirituality of college students in general and for the college students at Sam Houston State University specifically. This project led students to develop an understanding of a theology of the cross along with its practical implications for their personal lives and for their own ministry opportunities. Since theology is itself a dialogical discipline, a small group of students was enlisted to study together a theology of the cross as well as how they could apply a cruciform theology throughout the Baptist Student Ministry. This project lasted for one semester and attempted to include all of the students that were involved in the Baptist Student Ministry Program. The majority of the work, however, was completed by a smaller, select group of students. A larger group of students were asked to evaluate the testimonies, devotional materials, and sermons prepared by the select group. The challenge for the smaller, select group involved leaching the larger group of students the practical implications of a theology of the cross and to evaluate the program for its spiritual development and a ministry of the Baptist Student Ministry."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b2ad2862-737d-4dde-8145-b9b6962ac5f3"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133097392078848,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:13:52.248Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:53:40Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:24:40Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e8aa43ac-ee1d-4a2a-af16-b124d25ee75b","accessControl_ssim":["11af221f-7f52-478f-b71a-613cea82a76f"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Ministry by design: a celebration of doing ministry through our spiritual-giftedness"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:53:39Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:47:32Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ab947acd-9713-4e81-8b70-9614d3cff3fa"],"hasLease_ssim":["66224e21-408d-4b1d-8891-78fa8e9631d3"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["United Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Sky Kershner","Charles E Hendricks"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Thomas D McDowell"],"publisher_tesim":["United Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Mentoring in church work","Spiritual formation","Gifts, Spiritual","Church work with youth"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project seeks to understand the impact of gift-based ministry as a means of identifying giftedness and redeployment of the leadership.
