Some are involved in music department ensembles which require their participation, several are over-involved in leadership activities, and others have rigorous majors. These student leaders need at least two formational realities: a spiritual formation model that does not add another layer of activity to their already hectic lives, and an intentional formational relationship with a pastoral educator-mentor who can help them engage in meaningful practices of Christian spiritual formation and deepen their skills in worship leadership. Distinctive pilot groups allowed the author to research, investigate, and delineate ideas and models for intentional formation mentoring. The participants experienced transformation of self through self reflection and deeper encounter with the Lord. Their feedback also suggested a possibility of using the program for small groups. The research method used was Participatory Action Research (PAR) in an eight-week, small group process. All adults were able to identify personal growth as a result of the experience. The praxis director led a discipleship seminar, which utilized the teaching and practice of the spiritual disciplines, to cultivate more obedient disciples. As a whole, the participants experienced greater levels of perceived spiritual growth while participating in the practice of the spiritual disciplines. It should also address the spiritual formation of the preacher. The praxis provided six clergy with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the role of a rule of life and the practice of the spiritual disciplines in their preaching ministry. A post-test evaluated participant experiences and the impact of seven different components on participant spiritual transformation. Results showed that prominent spiritual transformation occurred on the retreats. Of the seven components assessed, the Rime of Silence with God had the greatest impact.
