In the language of the Pauline epistles, it is the call to the church to speak to the powers and principalities of the world.  The author has brought forth the story of the massacre at Indian Island, an island within the city of Eureka, California, that happened on February 26, 1860.  The author's intent was to bring forward public events of a spiritual nature that addressed remembrance, contrition and forgiveness. Quantitative measurement was gained through statistical analysis of scores from identical pre- and posttest questionnaires. Non-quantitative evaluation included discussion, interviews, and observation. The results were positive. The writer reviewed relevant literature, wrote a position paper and field-tested a praxis section resulting from the study.
