Due to the proliferation and dominance of scientific medical models, most of these spiritual healing traditions have been either forgotten or ignored.  The project thesis will seek to identify and model both traditional and newly-innovative Jewish religious practices which can be accessible to a rabbi who wishes to promote spiritual healing in a synagogue setting. The goal of the study was to find ways to assist patients with these life threatening diseases to move from places of anxiety and worry to places of peace, healing, and wholeness.  The researcher found that story was the common element in the interventions that were most effective fro these patients.
