Mark","Spiritual healing"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This paper examines how the traditional Ghanaian worldview has been contextualized by grass-roots Christians in Ghana, and further by Ghanaian Pentecostals, and how this has been exported, adapted, and refined from Ghana across national and continental lines to its diaspora. I hope to address some key questions regarding Ghanaian deliverance practices (at home and abroad) and integrate my findings into ministry, whether to Africans or anyone. Some of these questions include: “What drives Ghanaians to seek deliverance? How have they, historically, sought to deal with the spirit realm? How do they currently seek to deal with it? I accomplished this based on my own experiences of healing prayer and counseling and the research I did. The resource was then evaluated by a panel of ten experienced healing experts to determine how well the resource met its stated nine goals. We see Jesus display God's heart through Luke 4:16-21 of the New Testament. By God's power and anointing, Jesus spreads the heavenly gospel to display that Christ is the Messiah and also God and thus fulfilling Isaiah 61:1-3. After Jesus rose again and ascended into Heaven, the disciples gathered in Jerusalem to await the promised Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples during the Pentecost, bringing them authority and enabling them to proclaim the heavenly gospel throughout the nations. By Christ's great power, many people received healing and deliverance. This research also includes the deductions made by experts on this subject and personal experiences in ministry to analyze the probable method that 'healing and deliverance' will be valued and utilized by churches to shepherd their people. The research content and area of this dissertation: 1.To investigate the theological principles behind 'healing and deliverance' and investigate the methods Jesus and his disciples used to serve; 2.Study the work of destruction Satan has initiated on Earth so Christians can overcome the power of darkness; 3.Provide breakthrough and the appropriate solution by answering: 'What subjective and objective challenges in the environment are faced during healing and deliverance?'; and, 4.Learn ways to establish authority and victory for the army of the Lord, save people for God. It discusses not only the elderly population demographics in the U.S., but also the necessity for ongoing provision of preaching and ministry to them. It examines the current literature and position of the Church on the provision of pastoral care at nursing homes and assisted-living facilities. We also explores different biblical responses to the ongoing mystery of suffering, sickness, aging, and healing. How did some biblical characters grapple with their suffering? How did they perceive the goodness of God in the face of it? This chapter provides an in-depth analysis of the genre and theological, contextual, and historico-cultural background of some biblical texts concerning suffering, aging, and healing. We will demonstrate the Church's understanding and renewal of preaching in the last fifty years through a review of current literature and official documents of the Church. Though this review will reflect the perspective of the Catholic Church, this chapter also offers an overview of what constitutes Christian preaching and what its rich history, renewal, and methodology have to offer the Christian Church in general. We examine the current practices and ministry of preaching at nursing homes and assisted-living facilities. A review of current literature on preaching to the elderly population enriched the understanding of what it means to preach an effective homily to them. Chapter Five demonstrates a four-part workshop that will aid chaplains and ministers to be more effective preachers to the target population.
