This was tested through theological studies, interviews, questionnaires, congregational Bible studies, and dialogue with district pastors.  In conclusion, the author found a unanimous acceptance of the thesis, but mixed views concerning integrating preaching and healing during Sunday morning worship service since it would prolong the service. Quantitative measurement was gained through statistical analysis of scores from identical pre- and posttest questionnaires. Non-quantitative evaluation included discussion, interviews, and observation. The results were positive. The study includes a comparative analysis of the psychology of Carl Jung and the spirituality of John of the Cross.  The integrative approach of the model incorporates the intrapsychic, interpersonal, and transpersonal dimensions of the human personality.  The model can be adapted for use in different ministries, although this project focuses on the ministry of pastoral counseling.  The qualitative study yielded some initial insights that are tentative and inconclusive. The paper gives a biblical and historical overview and discusses contemporary objections to healing ministry.  It examines three settings where healing ministry is practiced. The author clarifies his theological understanding and traces through journal entries his initial experiential involvement in healing ministry.  He shares reflections/learnings which may be of value to others interested in beginning a practice of healing ministry. Among these learnings is the importance of empathic prayer and the engendering of hope.  Conveying God's care and desire for wholeness for creation is crucial.  Healing ministry should be an integral part of pastoral care ministry as well as of the congregation's life and ministry.
