This project examines three ways a congregation used narrative to explore personal faith. The author created story salons as a means to connect personal narratives with biblical and other narratives. Second the author describes a class he created to use creative writing as a spiritual discipline. Finally the author wrote a novel, Galleotto, which explores doubt as a means toward reintegrated faith. A prayer guide was used during the forty day exercise. Interviews and a questionnaire were used to capture the participants' prayer practices before and after the forty days. The analysis of the participants' responses provided the research with a before and after picture of the participant's prayer lives. Then he researches the Order and Rule of the Knights Templar, extrapolating the primary spiritual disciplines, to develop a modern day Order for Christian Military Chaplains.  The author tests the effectiveness of the Order through a four-week study. Through research on discipleship training and the Me Generation and personal testimonies from my own congregation, this dissertation concludes that the Me Generation especially needs life coaches, mentors who walk with them, teach by example, and guide them as role models.
